BIOGRAPHY
Singer and actress, Cindy Haja, was born to crown the stages. Singing before she could speak and dancing before she could walk, Cindy has lived every second of her life through the Performing Arts. Growing up in a Dutch/German family traveling the world, she was inspired multi-culturally by music, theatre and dance from Australia to the USA. Her family realised immediately that her passion to perform, at a tender age of three, was here to stay and it sure did. While attending Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, a Grammy signature school in Jacksonville, USA, Cindy's talent was quickly noticed when she became the youngest-ever student to be considered for a main role at the prestigious school. It was here where she was first given the chance to perform in the musical Anything Goes, in front of her first major audience of over 2600 people. She swooped up superior awards for for her solo and ensemble performances at State festivals and performed on National television during the annual Tree-lighting ceremonies. During her time in Jacksonville, she also had the chance to train at John Casablaca's Model & Talent (founder of Elite Model Management International) enabling her to expand her skills into freeze-, print- and runway modelling as well as TV & film acting. After completing high school, Cindy went on to train in Musical Theatre at the Stage School in Hamburg after which she attended the renowned London College of Music (LCM) in the UK, where she attained a Bachelor Honours degree in Music, Media & Event Management. During her time at the LCM, Cindy was awarded the prestigious Lloyd-Webber Musical Theatre Award by Julian Lloyd Webber, international composer, musician and brother of Andrew Lloyd-Webber for Best Musical Performance. She completed her time at the LCM by producing, co-writing and directing her own musical named Sevenly Sins. Months before graduating, Cindy's was offered and accepted with great enthusiasm, the amazing opportunity to perform the role of Gertrude in a Rock-Musical version of Shakespeare's Hamlet for an Italian national tour. During the tour of Hamlet, Cindy performed live in front of approximately 60,000 people, seeing over 80 cities, while performing on nearly 50 different stages in some of the most historical and picturesque theatres in the world. After having fallen in love with Italy and still buzzing from her experience touring with Hamlet, Cindy was thrilled to be asked to join the cast of Jekyll & Hyde for the following season, where she performed the roles of Mathilde and Lady Guest. After touring Italy for two consecutive years, Cindy performed in front of more than 120,000 people, experienced more than 120 Italian cities and performed on more than 90 stages. After being on the road for two years, loving every minute of being able to live her dream and mastering the Art of hand-washing clothes, Cindy acted as host, presenter and singer at one of the most scenic and striking palaces in the Netherlands, Palace Huis de Voorst. She also reconnected with her modelling experience and was privileged to photo shoot with some well established and upcoming photographers of the London and international scene, such as John Clark and Matteo Prezioso. In 2010, feeling the creative inspiration to eventually start her own business, Cindy moved back to London to seize the opportunity of pursuing a MA degree in Music Industry Management and Artist Development, which she is due to complete in Autumn 2011. In 2010 she also launched her website www.cindyhaja.com which has received thousands of views and enthusiastic feedback from all over the world. Cindy is currently working on some exciting new ideas and is available for projects in the London area. Come and follow her on Twitter, MySpace and Facebook!
